La Musique Infuse – the podcast that examines the influence of music on creators – Ep04
Music and Video
“Music is not 50% of the film, it’s much more”.
Alexandre Dubosc welcomed us into his home and his world. His living room is piled high with boxes bearing the word “fragile”, and it’s easy to see that his creations – his “short-mandises”, as he likes to call them – are stored inside. As an Internet video creator, Alexandre Dubosc has built up a real environment that allows him to create comfortably and to music!
For almost 10 years, his unique style has amassed 28 million views on his YouTube channel alone, taking his creations around the world. To convey emotions and messages, he uses a rather atypical object: a cake. He then rotates his creations on a support to create an animation in the style of optical games inspired by cinema.
“I’m trying to get out of the audio frame and put it into shape, in the form of a cake”.
The place of music in his work
Sound is inseparable from his creations, as it serves his visual intent and gives body to his videos. In his life, music is also a point of reference, acting as a source of inspiration or an object of understanding of the world around him. In this podcast, Alexandre talks passionately about his creative process and his relationship with music.
